Computer Based Learning Environment

Tall Oaks uses an exciting computer based, self instructional learning environment. It allows students to work through their studies in a 21st century environment. Each student in grades 3-8 is supplied a personal computer with flat panel monitor and their own study station. Students are enthusiastic about the rich multi-media supported curriculum and enjoy material presentation. Lessons may be completed entirely on the computer or printed and completed on paper.

The unique format of the curriculum and school operation allows students to:

• advance from module to module as they prove proficiency. 
• move independently through the program while supported by the Teacher.

And by placing the child

• at exactly his/her level through evaluation
• teaching the child the principle of goal setting
• stressing the importance and uniqueness of the individual
• encouraging parental participation in our community

Christ-centered Education

This curriculum is built on strong Christian principles. Students learn to see life from God's point of view. Their personal relationship with God and their personal responsibilities to family, church and community are of primary concern. All teachers have an active Christian faith that supports the objectives of the school and curriculum. This type of staffing feature also facilitates student discipleship and spiritual growth, through the learning process.

We supplement the core curriculum with other classes: Art, Music, French, group project work and physical/outdoor education to provide a rounded educational experience.
