Fall Newsletter 2007
Welcome back, students and families, to Tall Oaks! We
especially want to extend a warm welcome to the Pothaar family! Mr. Jake Pothaar,
formerly of Bancroft Christian Academy, joins us as a part time faculty member.
He brings with him two of his children, Ben and Emily. Mr. Pothaar is an
experienced Christian Educator and will be teaching one day a week on Tuesdays.
We also want to than Mrs. Lori Lloyd and Cindy Willing-Cox and their spouses for
their commitment to Tall Oaks over the past two years. We will miss you. We pray
Austin and Cassandra thrive in their new school settings.
Mrs. Stevens worked hard over the summer installing the new computer network.
Mr. David Jordan from Alpha and Omega joined us with his family for a week in
July to train Mrs. Stevens and Mr. Pothaar on the new program. The Jordans
thoroughly enjoyed our community and were very blessed to stay in Deb Deremo's
parent's cottage for the week. Thanks to Debbie and her family for their
hospitality. The Jordans hope to return next summer!
Our students are picking up the new computer system quickly and seem to be
enjoying the new interactive format. We are about to switch over to high speed
internet as well and hope to work on developing a distance education department
next.
Items to Note and Some to Pray About:
- Praise God for the wonderful trip that Mrs. Stevens was
able to take to Bolivia in July. She joined a team of 13 Compassion
Advocates from across Canada, to tour many projects around three cities
during her stay. Many children's lives are radically changed through
Compassion's Child Sponsorship Program. All funds that Mrs. Stevens required
were raised. God is faithful!
- We praise God for the addition of Mr. Pothaar to our
teaching staff. Pray for him as he builds relationships with our students
and families.
- Praise God for a successful Candy Floss Fundraiser at
Midnight Madness in August. Thanks to Mrs. Wruth for spinning and Lori Lloyd
and Deb Deremo for helping out.
- Please pray for the Stevens family as they move to their
new home (in the area) September 27th.
